No. Capture, annotation, backgrounds, recording, OCR, redaction and search all work without any AI. The ✦ assistant is there when you want it, and you can ignore it completely.
Nothing extra. On a Mac with Apple Intelligence the assistant runs on-device, at no cost. Connect Claude Code or another MCP app and it works with the plan you already have. Prefer your own API key? There’s no Zinxo fee: the provider bills your key directly, usually well under a cent per screenshot. Zinxo never charges for AI.
No, and that’s deliberate. AI providers don’t offer third-party apps a supported way to use consumer chat plans, so we never ask for those logins. Connect your AI app to Zinxo over MCP instead, and your credentials never touch us.
